AQUABION® can convert aggressive “hard” limescale into non-aggressive, less adherent “softer feeling” limescale. In scientific terms, AQUABION® creates a galvanic or electrolytic process through which an ion exchange occurs between the aggressive limescale (CaCO3 or Calcite*) and the pure zinc sacrificial anode inside the AQUABION®, releasing zinc ions and forming aragonite (ZNC03 – a non-aggressive, “softer feeling” calcium aragonite). This appears as a white powder in your kettle, sink, or shower, which can be cleaned much more easily, meaning it doesn’t stick to your appliances as much and requires less harsh cleaners.
AQUABION® offers several advantages over traditional salt-based water softeners. Unlike these, AQUABION® does not require constant addition of salt or frequent maintenance, significantly reducing operational costs and environmental impact.
